Is an Apology Enough?

I’m from Illinois, not just from Illinois but my (farm) family has been here for generations. The land my house is on has been in some part of family since the mid to early 1800s. My family has been on both sides of the political aisle including campaigning for and with several candidates and I have to admit this is the most embarrassed I’ve been by any representatives actions — and we have some clear contenders with our past governors most likely holding some sort of record for being convicted of crimes.

I was concerned early on during the primaries when Mary Miller ran attack ads that implied Democrats were not Christian and based her campaign on how much she supported Trump. She also showed herself as a farmer from downstate Illinois. Personally, I have an ancestor that was removed from the house of delegates in Virginia for being a minister in 1777 — Separation of Church and State. After receiving a text asking me for my vote and voicing my concerns I received a text from Senator Chapin Rose. Apparently her election committee forwards those things to the Senator. In my opinion it was not overly polite….and implied he thought I was from Chicago…..
